Cook Islands

Regions

The Cook Islands are extinct Tertiary volcanoes extruded into the oceanic basement of the Pacific plate through fissures or over hot spots in the mantle.

Some of the islands are fringed by reefs and can be formed into well-defined atolls but Globalshift regards them to have no oil and gas potential onshore and offshore.
