Oil and gas forecasts

The Tyra field facilities, through which much of Denmark’s gas and significant volumes of oil are processed, must be redeveloped after 2019 due to subsidence of the existing facilities over the Chalk reservoir. Consequently a steep drop in output of oil and gas is forecast (which are already in serious decline) followed by a recovery in the 2020s when new platforms are installed. Over the long term this recovery will be short-lived owing to a lack of new large potential developments in the region.
