Modern history

Current activity in Greece is centred around development of the Prinos field in the Prinos-Kavala Basin in the Gulf of Kavala. Prinos, along with Epsilon and Prinos North, contain around 30 mm bbls of oil. Other exploration targets are also present in the area. The West Katolokon Block in Western Greece holds the first field that will go into development in the country outside the Prinos area, perhaps containing around 10 mm bbls.
