Aruba is part of a basalt and limestone island arc built up directly over oceanic crust of the Southern Caribbean Sea.
Globalshift regards Aruba to have no oil and gas potential onshore, and probably none offshore although international oil companies occasionally explore its deeper waters.
Apart from a limited number of offshore exploration wells drilled in the late 1980s and early 1990s Aruba has no history of drilling and no production.
Globalshift does not forecast any future production of oil or gas in the country.
