The Tyra field facilities, through which much of Denmark’s gas and significant volumes of oil are processed, were being redeveloped in 2020 due to subsidence of the facilities over the Chalk reservoir. A steep drop in output of oil and gas has occurred from Tyra and its linked fields, all of which are already in decline.
A recovery in the 2020s, when new platforms are installed, is forecast but, over the long term, this recovery will be short-lived. There is a lack of any new potential developments in the region.
