The volcanic islands of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean are remnants of volcanic eruptions above a hot spot in the mantle.
Consequently Globalshift regards the country as having no oil and gas potential onshore and probably none offshore.
Mauritius has no history of drilling and production, onshore or offshore.
No exploration wells have ever been drilled in the country and Globalshift does not forecast any future production of oil or gas from the country.
