St. Vincent and the Grenadines are volcanic in origin. Part of the Caribbean island arc they were emplaced in a back arc setting where the South American plate subducts beneath the Caribbean plate.
The islands are surrounded by oceanic crust of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Globalshift expects them to have no oil and gas potential, onshore or offshore.
History
St. Vincent and the Grenadines has no history of production and no exploration wells have ever been drilled on any of the islands or offshore.
