Apr 2024: The Balticconnector gas pipeline link to Finland, shut down in October 2023 due to a rupture, has re-commenced operations following the completion of repair work. It is the 1st gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia. It entered into commercial use at the start of 2020.

Jul 2016: Skangas is delivering the commissioning cargo for its US$90 mm Pori LNG terminal aboard the small-scale LNG carrier Coral Energy from Zeebrugge. Finland’s first LNG terminal at the oil and chemical harbour Tahkoluoto in the Port of Pori will begin commercial operations in September 2016.

Sep 2015: A small-scale LNG terminal is planned at Pori in the Satakunta region on the west coast. Currently, there are no LNG terminals in Finland and the Pori project is part of a plan to create a network of small-scale terminals for the maritime industry.
2014
Nov 2014: Finland and Estonia agreed to improve gas infrastructure by building the Balticconnector gas pipeline between the two countries and an LNG import terminal in Finland. A small LNG terminal would also be built in Estonia. The Balticconnector pipeline is planned to be completed in 2019.
