The North American Region has the smallest number of countries and territories (just 5) of the 6 regions defined by Globalshift but is nonetheless important as a supplier and user of oil and gas.
The USA and Canada have long and varied oil and gas production histories and the USA remains an important consumer of both oil and gas and has become a growing producer once again with the advent of its light tight oil (LTO) business.
Elsewhere Greenland is being explored but with scant success.
