Regions
The volcanic islands of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha in the south Atlantic Ocean are either remnants of the mid-Atlantic ridge or lie above hotspots within oceanic crust caused by mantle upwelling.
Globalshift regards all the islands as having no oil and gas potential onshore and offshore.
History
The three islands and many islets of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena have no history of drilling and production. No exploration wells have ever been drilled in the territory or in their surrounding waters.
Globalshift does not forecast any future production of oil or gas from the territory.
