Regions
The British Virgin Islands are comprised of a number of volcanic islands forming part of the Caribbean island arc in the Caribbean Sea.
Globalshift regards the territory as having no oil and gas potential onshore and offshore.
History
One offshore well was drilled by Mobil in 1981 (Turtlehead-1) northeast of the island of St. Thomas (which is in the US Virgin Islands) in UK waters. It was abandoned as dry.
Otherwise the British Virgin Islands have no history of drilling and no oil or gas production and none is forecast by Globalshift.
